Built in 2001, NBISC features 4 full sized basketball/netball courts and 5 Volleyball Courts spread across two sports halls (East & West). Basketball/Netball Court 1 in the Western Hall features a large spectator seating area with capacity for up to 500 spectators. In addition, Courts 2, 3 & 4 feature fold-down seating along one sideline.
The sports floor is a sprung, stump-thrust system throughout, finished in an impressive light coloured timber. Heavy duty spring-back basketball rings (Ringleader) are installed throughout the Centre and Court 1 features glass backboards for top-level competition. Acromat netball goals and volleyball nets can be quickly installed when the Centre is hired for these sports. NBISC was designed to maximise the use of natural light during the day and to provide excellent cross-ventillation in hot conditions.
Additional facilities include: 2 large player changerooms, 1 referees changeroom, 1 first-aid room, as well as male, female and disabled toilet facilities. The Centre is fully wheelchair accessible and hosts wheelchair basketball and other disabled sports. A canteen serving a large variety of hot and cold food is conveniently located in the main entrance area. Floor to ceiling armoured glass between the canteen and court 1 allow spectators to continue observing the action whilst going for refreshments.
NBISC is located off Jackson's Road, Warriewood (opposite the Warriewood Shopping Centre "Centro") and backs onto the Narrabeen Sports High and North Narrabeen Public School Campuses. The Centre is a 10min walk to North Narrabeen Beach and accomodation is available at the nearby Lakeside Caravan Park.
